Haa Haa, Matthew here, I've hacked into April's blog to write a little from my perspective. Slept okay last night on the firmest mattress I've had since the Navy. We are like T-minus 3 hours and counting untill we get Elliott in our arms. I'm more excited and less nervous with every minute that passes. April is doing her hair so I know I have time to play on the computer. I'm trying to remember all my toddler tricks because it's been a few years and I'm afraid I'll use up all my best stuff this morning in the office with him. My backup plan will be a lesson on the finest musical instrument you can always carry in your pocket. THE HARMONICA! Oh yeah! I brought my teacher one I use in my classroom daily and bought him a shiny blue one last night at WallyWorld. I figure will bluegrass it up in the park across the street by the waterfront, that will be a fun 5 minutes or so. Hmm... maybe after that we will discuss Michigan State Spartan's strategies for the big game against U of M on the 15th which we will be watching in the middle of the night on the laptop in Guangzhou!
Got to go get some breakfast. April is done, and her hair looks like a million bucks. :o)

The harmonica would be a fun distraction (especially since you can apparently play it!).
ReplyDeleteBut I hate to be the one to break it to you, all of your dreams for a Spartan victory next weekend are for naught. The Wolverines are going to dominate, but at least you'll be able to teach your son about losing gracefully...right? :)
Can't wait to see Elliott with his new Mama and Baba!
Waiting anxiously to see Elliott and hear about his "Gotcha Day"!!! Thanks for sharing the journey with us!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are the best. So elated/nervous/happy for you!
